As always, the start of a new month means changes to Netflix’s library of TV series and movies. In April, the streaming service sees plenty of quality shows and films get added, which include horror, anime, and everything in between. In the video above, Emily Conti dives into the handful of April debuts we’re most looking forward to.
It’s no April Fool’s Day joke: On the first of the month, the sequel to Ultraman premieres on Netflix. Also called Ultraman, this 3D superhero anime is set several years after the events of the live-action 1960’s TV series, and sees Shinjiro Hayata–son of the original Ultraman, Shin–take on his father’s mantle in order to fight against a new alien threat.
Later that same week, on April 5, Brie Larson makes her directorial debut with Unicorn Store–which sees her also act alongside fellow Captain Marvel star Samuel L. Jackson. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Part 2 also premieres that same day. The following week sees Z Nation prequel Black Summer release on April 11 and comedy series Huge in France on April 12.
April finishes strong with a bunch of excellent content drops, including a second season to last year’s surprise hit She-Ra and the Princesses of Power–which reimagines the heroine of the 1985 He-Man spin-off series–on April 26.
We’ve outlined everything new on Netflix in April 2019 if you want to stay on top of absolutely every TV series and movie coming to and leaving the streaming service for the month.
