COACHES are telling Callum Hudson-Odoi to watch and learn from Raheem Sterling.
SunSport understands Hudson-Odoi is under orders to study the Manchester City star — who hit a hat-trick against the Czech Republic on Friday — to see how much he can still improve.
And Chelsea’s whizkid winger, 18, has been given videos of Sterling in action for club and country as an example of how to make an impact in the right areas of the pitch.
Hudson-Odoi has been earmarked as a future star ever since he joined Blues’ academy in 2007.
But those responsible for nurturing his career believe the teenager needs to develop more of a ruthless streak after years picking up bad habits by being so much better than opposition players.
Coaches are working on making him run behind defences more rather than drop short to get the ball.
They want him to focus on using his devastating skills and pace in areas that can hurt sides.
And the teenager is also being challenged to develop his instincts in front of goal and make better runs to get on the end of crosses.
Sterling has improved his goalscoring hugely under Pep Guardiola, netting 19 for City this season after 23 last term.
So far, Hudson-Odoi is understood to have shown a hunger and willingness to listen and learn.
But it is being drummed into him not to accept the level he has already reached and strive to become a world-class player — like Sterling.
