Virgin Atlantic has revealed it will be launching new direct flights to Sao Paulo, Brazil from London Heathrow.
The new daily service will take off in 2020, being served by the airline's Boeing 787-9 aircraft, and will boast a flight time of approximately 11 hours 55 minutes.
It will also prove a milestone for the company, as it will be the first time Virgin Atlantic offers flights to South America.
The new flights are due to go on sale on the Virgin Atlantic website later this year although the company has yet to confirm the starting prices for one way tickets and return journeys.
It's likely to suit a whole host of budgets though, as the plane will boast the company's Upper Class, Premium and Economy Delight, Classic and Light cabins.
Meanwhile, tickets will include complimentary food and drink and access to the in-flight entertainment which offers over 300 hours of movies, TV and music.
The company revealed plans to also carry regular shipments of cargo such as car parts, pharmaceuticals, food and agricultural products to and from Brazil.
Meanwhile, there are also plans to incorporate Brazil into Virgin Holidays' offering.
In fact, the company revealed it's currently in talks to find travel and accommodation partners with a view to start offering holiday packages to Sao Paulo alongside the new flights.
It's no surprise that Sao Paulo was firmly on Virgin's radar.
After all, the bustling Brazilian city is jam-packed with incredible sights, museums, a vibrant nightlife and impressive foodie scene, and has long been on most travellers' bucket lists for an unforgettable city break.
It's not the only new route which the airline is adding to its schedule. Earlier this year, Virgin Atlantic started selling seats on its new route to Tel Aviv , which will begin operations in September later this year.
