Customers fear KFC could run out of chicken AGAIN after the fast food giant changed suppliers.
The takeaway outlet will from Monday start using Bidvest, now called Best Food Logistics, as its chicken supplier.
The current supplier, DHL, quit recently, The Sun have reported. And some fear Best Food taking over the contract could cause some short term interruption.
“KFC fans should rightly be worried. More disruption awaits," a source told The Sun.
And in the face of being without their favourite fast food, Twitter has spoken up.
Some even feared the "end of the world is nigh" while others said we are "all doomed".
One person put on Facebook : "Oh God, here we go again" while others shared dramatic memes.
Best Foods bid for the contract with claims it could deliver a cage of chicken for £22 compared to DHL’s £24.50.
A KFC spokesman said: “We had a tough year and have been working really hard to continue to deliver fresh chicken every day.
“We’ve decided to switch back to Best Food who have done a great job in supporting us while we got back on track.”
But last year, KFC lost around £1million a day after around 700 of its 870 stores shut . Problems at DHL’s depot in Rugby, Warwickshire, led to a national chicken shortage .
People were outraged after they couldn’t get their favourite finger lickin’ treat anywhere.
It’s reported DHL will not consult staff with the hope to bring a new customer to Rugby.
