We’ve got to love it when moms take center stage. Last night’s 2019 Academy Awards ceremony was a veritable momfest, with numerous celebs bringing their mothers as their dates — and others giving beautiful shoutouts to the women who raised them.
Regina King won Best Supporting Actress for If Beale Street Could Talk. Guess who was foremost on her mind? Her mama. Awwww.
Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan made us all melt with his Instagram post: “My mama about to make me have to fight somebody she looking so pretty.” Jordan added, “#PopsIGotYou.”
Amy Adams brought her lookalike sisters and her mom:
Rami Malek, star of of Bohemian Rhapsody, won for Best Actor — and he made sure to adorably thank his mama:

Charlize Theron brought her mom (and co-parent!) as her Oscar date:
As did Bradley Cooper. His mom, Gloria, joined his partner Irina Shayk, the mother of his child (who is also a badass for sitting through Cooper and Lady Gaga delivering that electric seriously-are-they-more-than-friends performance of “Shallow,” the song that won an Oscar for Gaga).
Yalitza Aparicio was nominated for Best Actress for Roma and brought her mother to the Oscars, too. As Los Angeles Times writer Esmeralda Bermudez reported on Twitter, “An indigenous preK teacher from a far-flung Mexican town, up 4 Best Actress, w/her mother, a domestic worker, walking hand in hand on one of the world’s most powerful and impenetrable stages: the Oscars red carpet.” BOOM. That says it all.
BlackKklansman producer Jason Blum also included his mom (well, half of her, at least) in a cute tweet on the way to the Oscars:
