Jordyn Woods is having difficulty making peace with the Kardashians after her cheating scandal with Tristan Thompson.
A source tells PEOPLE that while Woods “very much wants to be forgiven” for allegedly hooking up with Khloé Kardashian‘s boyfriend Thompson, she may be having trouble owning up to the truth.
“Her story keeps changing a bit, and it’s almost like she is digging herself deeper,” the source says. “It’s been a week now of nonsense explaining from her side. Everyone thinks she wanted to hook up with Tristan and she just didn’t think she was gonna get caught.”
Last week, TMZ and Hollywood Unlocked reported that Kardashian and the Cleveland Cavaliers player split after he was unfaithful to her with Woods, who is Kylie Jenner‘s best friend and also a member of the Good American squad, representing Kardashian’s clothing brand.
And while the betrayal was deep for Kardashian, Jenner is reeling at the thought of losing her best friend.
“Kylie still seems torn,” the source says. “It’s gonna be very difficult for her to cut Jordyn completely out of her life.”
A second source previously told PEOPLE Woods has made multiple efforts to apologize.
“Jordyn has been trying to reach out to Khloé, Kylie and everyone else in the family to apologize,” the source said. “She wants to apologize and make everything right.”
Added the source: “She’s completely remorseful. She spent the whole night crying with her mom and sister.”
On Wednesday, multiple sources confirmed that Woods, 21, moved back to her mother’s house from Jenner’s home. Said a pal: “It’s been a difficult time and she’s broken up about it. She’s heading home to be with her mom.”
The news blindsided the entire KarJenner clan, who once thought of Woods as family.
“When they first started hearing on Monday that Tristan made out with Jordyn, no one really believed it,” one source said. “That Tristan would be inappropriate, yes everyone knows that he can’t behave, but that Jordyn would make out with him, it first seemed like a made up rumor.”
“It wasn’t anything they wanted to drop,” the source added. “So several family members reached out to people they believed had been at the party. And they were told it was true.”
Woods has remained silent since the reports first broke, but Thompson tweeted, “FAKE NEWS” before deleting his post.
Reps for Kardashian and Thompson did not return PEOPLE’s requests for comment. Woods’ rep had no comment.
