Trump Jr. compares Christine Blasey Ford to Jussie Smollett in Oscar ‘hoax’ category

Donald Trump Jr. made up his own Oscars category Sunday night: “Best performance in a politically motivated hate crime hoax.”

In an Academy Awards-themed tweet, the first son asked his followers to choose between the so-called nominees, lumping Jussie Smollett, who’s accused of staging his own hate crime attack, with Christine Blasey Ford, who testified before the Senate that then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were teens.

The third nominee was Nathan Phillips, the Native American activist involved in a caught-on-camera confrontation with a group of students from Covington Catholic HS Jan. 18.

Phillips said the high schoolers were attacking “four black individuals” before he stepped in but other videos of the face-off proved he was lying.

Ford said Justice Kavanaugh assaulted her at a house party in 1982. He denied the accusation.

Smollett has been charged for allegedly filing a false police report saying two men attacked him last month while yelling racist and homophobic slurs.

Some Twitter users were outraged by Ford’s inclusion in Trump Jr.’s nominations.

“I can’t believe Twitter allows this kind of harassment,” tweeted @JamesJForbes. “Christine Ford suffered enough and this guy has to call her a lier [SIC]!”
