Model plagued by acne so severe it looked like 'red freckles cures' it with special diet

Georgia Gibbs, 24, found herself covered in "red freckles" in the space of a month.

The Australian model shared a transformation snap of her face from September 2018 to January 2019 to show how far her skin has healed.

"I'm nervous sharing this with you, a couple of months ago I refused to FaceTime my mum and wouldn't leave the house because I worried about another person being like 'oh what's happened to your face?'," she said.

"But I know there are so many of you scrolling your perfect Instagram feeds… so MODELS AREN'T PERFECT, just your filtered Photoshopped Instagram is.

"This experience truly taught me to practice what I preach.

"When you have acne it's so hard to see past it but I'm so grateful for this experience because I was forced to value myself for so much more than my skin and for that I'm forever grateful."

In a YouTube vid, Georgia explained how she was diagnosed with chronic fatigue as a teen, before moving from Oz to LA which caused her a lot of anxiety and stress.

She then had to have surgery and got a really bad infection which lasted for five months around the same time as a family member was severely unwell.

"My sickness was 100 per cent down to my mental health," she explained in her video.

That caused her to suffer from poor gut health and Demodex mites – which her doctors prescribed her with six lots of antibiotics to treat.

The mites, she said, "can cause some of the most severe acne you've ever seen in your life" and it's really itchy and painful.

She spent more than $15,000 (£8,230) trying to find a cure. But her skin was still red and raw, and she felt depressed.

So, she visited a traditional medicine healer as a last-ditch solution.

And she found almost instant change.

"I had to cut out all grains, preservatives, caffeine, sugar and fructose to reset my gut lining," she said.

"I would wake up and have a smoothie with spinach, kale, celery, cucumber, coriander, almond milk, gastrointestinal powder and a collagen-based protein.

"Then avocado, eggs and greens for lunch. I would make a huge salad with apple cider vinegar and a soup for dinner."

She said she followed that regime for three months "no matter what, no excuses" because "consistency is key".

Georgia said that her mental health changed instantly after she altered her diet.

As well as overhauling her diet, Georgia also said that she consulted someone who had been trained in Chinese medicine who prescribed her with a "vacuum-sealed herbs" to take every day.

She said that loads of people told her to see a "proper" doctor, rather than a traditional healer "because we're in a society that's taught that unless you're taking some kind of pharmaceutical drug you're not going to be better".

She still takes it and claims that she now feels better than ever.

"I can't tell you how much these people changed my life. I was a skeptic.

"I thought a tonic couldn't change anything but I'm telling you that it changed my life."
