Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are engaged! The actor popped the question on Valentine’s Day — and confirmed the news on his Instagram.
“Lifetimes,” Bloom, 42, captioned a photo of the future spouses while Perry, 34, showed off her stunning engagement ring. The “Roar” singer shared the same pic on her account, writing: “full bloom.”
Perry’s mom, Mary Hudson, also gushed about the couple on her Facebook page. “Look who got engaged on Valentines Day!!” she wrote. In one sweet photo, Perry and Bloom embraced in front of a heart-shaped arch made with red roses.
The couple first met at CAA’s 2016 Golden Globes afterparty at Sunset Tower in January 2016. “Katy and Orlando Bloom had a total dance-off — it was the best part of the party,” a source told Us Weekly at the time. “Katy literally dropped to the floor and was waving her booty around, beckoning Orlando.” They’d date until February 2017 until rekindling their romance in January 2018.
Back in October, an insider told Us that an engagement was “definitely a possibility” for the pair. “Katy and Orlando have worked out all their kinks and have had really fluid communication about what each of them wants,” a source told Us. “Katy doesn’t want this relationship to be a repeat cycle of things she’s already experienced in past relationships that didn’t work out. She’s learned to grow from them and doesn’t want that in her current relationship.”
The insider added: “They really try to communicate well and spend as much time together as possible. Obviously, they’re both very busy, but they prioritize communicating and working their schedules around each other. They are very much in love, so an engagement wouldn’t be a surprise.”
As for expanding their family? Perry “wants a kid ASAP.”
Perry was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012 and some of her famous exes include John Mayer and Diplo. Bloom, who dated Kate Bosworth from 2003 to 2006, was also married to Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013. The exes share son Flynn, 8.
