A teacher who was dumped by her husband while pregnant has set up her own bushiness to help other heartbroken people.

Laura Stewart, 35, from London, was six weeks gone when her then husband – who she has chosen not to name – revealed he’d cheated and no longer wanted to be with her.

Knowing she’d have to raise the child alone, she made the heart-breaking decision to terminate her pregnancy.

After coming out the other end of that difficult time, Laura decided to set up her own business to offer support to others during or after relationship break-ups.

‘I also wanted to offer advice on how to move forward afterwards, what to do if they don’t text back and how to understand “flirty banter”,’ said Laura, who is now a qualified relationship and dating coach.

‘It was a new world for me after I broke up with my husband, and I hope my website helps others who desperately need guidance at such an awful time,’ she added.

Realising there was little support out there for anyone experiencing heartache, Laura put her teaching career on hold so she could set up her own website to help others.

‘I’m a teacher so I have the ability to help heartbroken kids and adults,’ she explained. ‘Inspired to help others, I created The Blue Ticks – a website that would offer free advice on how to handle breakups.’

Now, Laura is a qualified counsellor and relationship expert and offers guidance to others on how to enter the dating scene again.

‘I wanted to offer some real expert advice so I enrolled on courses to ensure I could offer users on my website The Blue Ticks the best solutions to their problems,’ she said.

Laura launched The Blue Ticks on November 18 and said she ‘couldn’t be prouder’ of her new business venture, which she plans to do alongside her teaching

The relationship counsellor has now met someone new and is looking forward to the future

‘I launched the service on November 18 and I couldn’t be prouder of my new business venture which I will do alongside my teaching.’

And the relationship expert, who is now in a new relationship, wants to prove to anyone out there that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

‘You can heal after heartbreak and I’m living proof that you can be happy again, even if you’re single on Valentines Day,’ she explained. ‘I’ve met someone new and I’m excited for the future, which, compared to this time last year, is a huge improvement.’

While Laura has decided not to name her ex-husband, she says he fully approves of her business venture.

‘He understands that I needed to do something positive with my experiences of last year,’ said Laura. ‘He knows that the website is helping ease my pain and has given me so much to look forward to.’

‘I hope people will start using the website soon as I’ve set up a forum so users can chat together too.’
