Davis secured a stunning first-round KO win against former world champ Hugo Ruiz to defend his WBA super world super featherweight strap on Saturday night.
After the victory, Davis' manager Mayweather revealed the prodigy will follow in his footsteps and head over to Japan in April.
On New Year's Eve the boxing legend needed just 140 seconds to batter Tenshin into submission in an exhibition fight thought to have earned him £7million.
It was a mismatch from start to finish, with the Japanese martial artist floored three times before his corner threw in the towel.
Now Mayweather is set to fly Davis over to put Tenshin to the sword once again.
Speaking after watching Davis crush Ruiz in California, Mayweather said: "We're talking about May [for Davis' next fight], if that's okay with him.
"He got an exhibition bout with the guy Tenshin in Japan, in April. He is fighting Tenshin in an exhibition match in Japan, in RIZIN.
"I'm proud of Tank. He is going to stay active. So first it's Tenshin in April and then in May it's the real fight."
Davis secured his 20th KO in 21 fights by demolishing late-stand in Ruiz at the Dignity Health Sports Park.
The Mexican replaced Abner Mares who was forced to withdraw with injury.
But he was no match for Davis, who picked up his 12th straight win by KO.
Speaking after his latest triumph, Davis said: “I knew it was coming.
"I wanted to go more rounds, but I knew if I got him out of there early I could fight again sooner.
"When I touched the jab I saw his arm was in front of his face so if I threw a hook or uppercut it was right in line.”
