Aaron Chalmers weighs in for Bellator Newcastle clash against American Corey Browning

Chalmers fights 4-1 Corey Browning tomorrow night – as he makes his lightweight debut in front of a home crowd in Newcastle.

Though facing the toughest opponent of his career, in front of a home audience, Chalmers told SunSport the nerves he felt for his May 2017 debut against Carl Jenkins outweighs what he will feel tomorrow night.

Chalmers said: “When I fought in Birmingham on my debut, everyone you know is there.

“Back then they’ve never seen me fight before, so they say ‘you better win’. They say it in a good way but I think ‘F***ing hell, I’m gonna try.’

"Once the first one was out the way, I haven’t felt as much pressure.

“You see yourself improving everyday and you’re training with some of the best kids not only in the country but in the world.

“I love this, that’s all I can say and my mindset is to go as far as a possibly can.

“I’ll just go in, try get the win and then go onto the next one.”

Chalmers is 4-0 with since his debut last year with all of his wins coming by first round stoppage.

However, he faces a man who beat Kimbo Slice’s son, Baby Slice, in his last outing – leaving many to believe this is the toughest test of the Geordie's career so far.

Despite facing the in form Browning, Chalmers insists that he has not spent too much time visualising the American.

Chalmers added: “I don't visualise an opponent's face, I visualise them being on the other side of the cage from us and we’re ready to go.

“I just train as much as I can for that specific fighter, I don’t put a face to it.”
