The Great Dane revealed his stunning partner Laura von Lindholm had said yes as he popped the big question.
Schmeichel, 55, got down on one knee to ask for the former model’s for her hand in marriage today while on holiday in the Maldives.
And they could not wait to share their good news with their social media followers.
Laura, 46, was the first to announce the engagement via Instagram.
Wearing a huge grin, she showed off her new large diamond ring and captioned it with: “My light, my love… Yes yes yes!”
Schmeichel quickly followed suit, posting a blurred photo of them kissing with “She said yes” wrote on it.
He then captioned it with: “So that makes me the lucky one.”

The ex-goalkeeper shot to stardom with Manchester United in the 90s, lifting five Premier League titles, three FA Cups and the Champions League as part of the all-conquering treble winners in 1999.
Schmeichel, who helped Denmark to European Championship glory in 1992, went on to play for Aston Villa and United’s rivals Man City before retirement.

Now it will be junior who is offering the congratulates as he prepares to official welcome his new step mum to the family.
