This is the heartwarming moment a young gorilla demanded attention from his bemused older brother in a zoo enclosure in Denmark. 

Six-year-old Yeba threw wood shavings at his 16-year-old brother Kipenzi as he tries to get him to play. 

Kipenzi remains unmoved by his younger sibling’s antics and slowly calms him down, stroking his head lovingly.

The video was shared on social media and shows the six-year-old playing next to his older brother.

Yeba is full of energy and bounces up and down in front of his more stoic brother. 

Kipenzi eventually grabs him, pulling him close to calm him down.

According to Givskud Zoo, Yeba is always playful and such behaviour is natural among young gorillas.

‘The older brother is gentle and sometimes he plays along’, the zoo said.

The species is listed as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
