Powering through. Jessica Simpson hasn’t had an easy pregnancy, especially in the weeks leading up to the birth of baby No. 3.
Though the “A Public Affair” singer put on a brave face for her flower-filled baby shower on January 19, she admitted that she’s been suffering from multiple aches and ailments for some time.
“After a month of sciatica pain, followed by 3 weeks of Bronchitis,” the fashion designer, 38, began a caption on Instagram on Sunday, February 3, “I figured since my feet fit in my sneaks today … I needed to walk out a lot of anxiety!!”
The accompanying photo showed the MTV alum wearing pink sunglasses and a red hat with a magenta pom-pom.
Simpson, who is expecting her third child with husband Eric Johnson, mocked her swollen feet with an epic post on January 17. “#tenyearchallenge,” she wrote, alongside side-by-side photos of her toned legs in denim shorts and wedges and a snapshot of her puffed-up ankle and foot.
The latter pic went viral when the Dukes of Hazzard actress originally posted it on January 10, along with the caption, “Any remedies?! Help!!!!” (She ended up getting Chinese cupping therapy to alleviate the problem.)
The musician shared the news via Instagram in September that she and Johnson, 39, are expecting another child. “This little baby girl will make us a family of five,” she captioned a photo of her daughter, Maxwell, 6, and son Ace, 5, surrounded by pink balloons. “We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.”
Simpson confirmed the new little one’s name, Birdie, at her baby shower, captioning multiple Stories with the words “Birdie’s Nest.”
“My oldest granddaughter #MaxiDrew and Gigi celebrating our baby Birdie!” Simpson’s mom, Tina, captioned a sweet snap of herself and Maxwell via Instagram the day of the party.
