Fans don't fancy Scotland's Six Nations hopes as bench scoff pizza during Italy win

On 37 minutes, with the hosts 12-3 ahead, cameras panned to the dug-out, which was full of fans tucking into a feast.

Scotland’s bench all had a takeaway box on their lap, as they tucked into some pizzas as their side were in control of the game.

It wasn’t clear why the fans were sat on the sidelines but it made for a funny sight.

Despite leading at the time, fans couldn’t resist questioning Scotland’s chances of having a successful tournament – due to their bench opting for the not-so nutritional snack.

One said: “Don't fancy #Scotland chances with those replacements, busy scoffing pizza at the mo”.

Another said: “Lovely moment in the first half of the Scotland v Italy Rugby.

“Cameras panned across to the Italian dug out and caught them all with pizza boxes on their laps, tucking in as though they hadn't eaten for a week.”

The pizza eating fans watched on as Scotland run out 33-20 winners against Italy as they kicked off with a win.

Blair Kinghorn was the star performer at Murrayfield as Scotland ran out convincing winners against Italy in their first Six-Nations game of the year.

Two first-half tries from the winger saw Scotland go in 12-3 up at the break.

In the second-half Stuart Hogg and Chris Harris scored tries either side of Kinghorn's third as they cruised to a 33-3 lead with less than twenty minutes remaining.

Italy scored three tries in the last nine minutes through Guglielmo Palazzani, Edoardo Padovani, and Angelo Esposito to make the scoreline more respectable but it was too little too late for the Azzurri.
