Sarri was left fuming at the manner of his team’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.
And he held nothing back as he used a translator to criticise his players’ motivation levels and work rate in the post-match press conference.
Sarri said the squad were proving “difficult to motivate”, and challenged his aces to show more of their dogged side ahead of Thursday’s Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg clash against Spurs.
The Times now claims that some players have been left bemused by Sarri’s comments, as well as the manner of his training sessions and use of Eden Hazard as a false nine.
It prompted Sarri to apparently hold a 20-minute meeting before training on Monday morning to repeat his concerns and ensure everyone remains on board in the quest for Champions League football.
It’s added that the players are still fully committed to Sarri’s cause, with David Luiz declaring: “It’s part of the process, when you try to do something and this is inside your mind, if you believe in it you can arrive there.
“Because of the results if you start to change and change, you don’t go anywhere. So this is our philosophy, I believe in it, I trust in it, so I just know we have to improve, like every team in the world.
“What Sarri has done until now is unbelievable, amazing, because normally a team to understand this philosophy needs one or two years, like Man City and Liverpool, who are playing very well with the ball now.
“What he has done has been amazing, so we have to try to improve the details now. Everybody is trusting his job and everybody is with him.”
