The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the premiere of Cirque du Soleil’s Totem last night at the Royal Albert Hall. The premiere/screening event benefitted Prince Harry’s Lesotho charity Sentebale, and this counted as Harry’s second day of work in 2019 – his first day was Monday, when he and Meghan piled on event after event in Birkenhead.
It feels like it’s been a while since we’ve seen Meghan in some kind of evening-wear. Was it the Australia/South Pacific Tour? No, it was the Royal Variety Show last November. I wasn’t in love with that two-piece Safiyaa gown she wore, but I’m a HUGE fan of the Roland Mouret gown she wore last night. I’m a big Mouret fan anyway, and this bespoke/custom gown is absolutely gorgeous. I always feel sorry for the preggo ladies who need to find evening-wear to accommodate their growing bump, because tailoring is always going to be an issue. While this Mouret is clingy/fitted at the top, you can see where the designer left some room to grow in the bottom half. I also love Meg’s styling here – simple, elegant updo, stud earrings and a bracelet which once belonged to Princess Diana (a gift from Harry).
The Daily Mail put the price tag on this gown at £3,400. That’s a lot, and she probably wouldn’t get a chance to do many repeats unless she got pregnant a second time. A good enough reason to have a second child, do it to rewear this dress!!
