Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx to Become a Dad for the Fifth Time at 60 — Despite Having a Vasectomy

Nikki Sixx‘s “Home Sweet Home” is about to grow by one!

The Mötley Crüe bassist, 60, and his wife Courtney, 33, are expecting their first child together and Sixx’s fifth total, PEOPLE confirmed.

“What a great way to start off 2019 for Courtney and me,” Nikki tells PEOPLE. “I am so excited knowing that I’m not going to be touring during the pregnancy, which makes it even more special.”

“My wife is going to make the most amazing mom ever and our whole family is beyond excited.”

The baby on the way is the first for Courtney while Sixx — whose given name is Frank Carlton Serafino Feranna, Jr. — is also dad to Frankie-Jean Mary, 18, Decker Nilsson, 23, Storm Brieann, 24, and Gunner Nicholas, 27.

“We have been talking about having a baby since we met and were married almost five years ago,” Courtney explained.

“It’s definitely been on my mind every day. After turning 30, baby fever kicked in big time but we wanted to wait until the perfect time. We are beyond thrilled to be bringing a little Sixx into the world and I know we will make amazing parents together.”

It has been almost two decades since the rocker last became a dad and this baby is on the way despite the bassist having previously had a vasectomy.

When it was suggested on the 2007 show Nikki would later have a reversal, he joked he would get a second operation just to make sure the first one worked.

Clearly, all that changed after he met Courtney.

Nikki tied the knot with model Courtney in March 2014 at Greystone Mansion in Los Angeles in front of family and friends, his rep confirmed to PEOPLE. Peacocks greeted the 130 guests on arrival at the wedding, which had a gothic-rock-meets-French-countryside theme.

“They wed in a very sweet, religious-based ceremony,” a source told PEOPLE after the wedding. “They couldn’t say “I do’ fast enough.”

Nikki popped the question to Courtney two years into their courtship while vacationing with the How2Girl expert in St. Bart’s. They spent their sun-soaked honeymoon in Bora Bora.

It was the musician’s third trip down the aisle. He was previously married to Playboy playmate Brandi Brandt (with whom he shares his three oldest children) and actress Donna D’Errico, who is Frankie-Jean’s mother.

Nikki previously opened up about fatherhood — and his desire to expand his brood — in a 2015 interview with The Guardian, calling his connection with Courtney his “last marriage.”

“I want to have another child,” revealed the “Dr. Feelgood” hitmaker. “I have four amazing children and it’s been the greatest thing that’s ever happened in my life. They teach me every day. I try to show them what I’ve learned.”

And his love for his family knows no bounds. “No matter what happens in my kids’ lives, I’ll be there for them. My family means everything to me and I will do anything for them,” Nikki told The Guardian.

“If somebody offered me a lethal injection right now, that would guarantee my kids will live forever, I would take it,” he insisted. “With my wife, they’re the most important thing in my life.”

In addition to expanding their family, this year is already pretty busy for the couple. Courtney is working on a luxury flower line, Bouquet Box with celebrity florist Marks Garden and Nikki’s biopic The Dirt on Netflix is coming out this March.
