Halston garnered a flock of high-profile celebrity clients with his sexy yet sophisticated designs that fit right in on the dance floor of New York’s Studio 54 disco, and on the red carpet of film premieres.

BY 1973, Halston had sold his company, but retained creative control as the principal designer. Ten years later, Halston’s financial backer was acquired by another company, causing him to slowly lose control of his namesake label, until he was ultimately forced out, despite trying to buy it back. By 1990 the line was discontinued and in the same year, Halston passed away due to AIDS-related complications. He was 57 years old.
There are no details yet as to when the limited series is set to air.
