AJ could be left waiting as Dominic Breazeale calls out Wilder after brutal KO of Carlos Negron

Breazeale, 33, knocked out Carlos Negron in round nine of their heavyweight showdown at the Barclays Center, in New York.

After the fight Breazeale, who is the mandatory challenger for the WBC heavyweight world title, called out the champion Wilder, 33, who was in attendance for the fight.

Breazeale said: “I know Wilder's here in the crowd he came to watch. He knows I'm next.

“He better be holding on to that baby real tight because I'm coming, troubles already here.”

Although Breazeale is the mandatory challenger for the WBC, the governing body are yet to hand the American a world title shot.

Even more surprising Dillian Whyte, 30, is ranked as the No1 challenger with the WBC, yet like Breazeale they have not ordered the Brit to fight the champion.

Whyte and Breazeale may be ordered to fight in a final eliminator, leaving Wilder to either rematch Tyson Fury, 30, or unify the heavyweight titles with Joshua, 29.

Joshua, who beat Breazeale in 2016, has stated he wants to fight Wilder next, instead of a rematch with Whyte.

While calling for a fight with Joshua, Whyte has also made it clear he wishes to use his No1 WBC ranking to take on Wilder.

After Whyte defeated Dereck Chisora by KO in their rematch, Wilder claimed he had not taken notice of his rivals performance.
