ARLINGTON, Texas – Cowboys defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford was carted off the field after he was thrown down two plays into the Buccaneers’ opening drive.
Medical trainers helped Crawford onto a backboard, and teammates kneeled after he injured his neck in what the team initially deemed a strain.
Crawford was able to move his arms and legs before being strapped to a backboard but was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory filled in after Crawford went down.
Crawford has played 91 career games since Dallas selected him in the third round of the 2012 draft. He has started all 15 games for the Cowboys in 2018, recording 35 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two pass deflections and a forced fumble.
