XXXTENTACION’s ‘Skins’ Sets New Record on Billboard 200

AceShowbizXXXTENTACION‘s legacy continues to live on even after his death. His first posthumous album “Skins” debuts atop Billboard 200 chart, marking his second No. 1 album. The set racked up 132,000 equivalent album units, including 52,000 in traditional album sales, in the week ending December 13, according to Nielsen Music.

With this, the effort becomes the first posthumous album to top the chart since Prince‘s “The Very Best of Prince”. The late singer’s greatest hits album re-entered the chart in May 2016 at No. 1 following his death on April 21 of that year.

On the other hand, “Skins” lead single “Bad!” has peaked at No. 16 on Billboard’s Hot 100. It becomes the slain rapper’s twelfth top 40 hit.

Trailing behind “Skins” on this week’s chart is Meek Mill‘s “Championships”, which topped the chart last week. Moving down to the second spot, the record sold an additional 129,000 in its second week. Meanwhile, Michael Buble‘s record-breaking 2011 holiday album “Christmas” rises to No. 3 with 57,000 units, becoming its highest rank in six years. The set was last in top 3 in December 2012.

A Star Is Born” soundtrack album climbs three spots to No. 4 with 55,000 units, while Gucci Mane scores his fifth top ten album with “Evil Genius”. His new effort arrives at No. 5 with 51,000 units. At No. 6, Travis Scott (II)‘s “Astroworld” rises from its eighth spot with a little more than 44,000 units.

John Mellencamp scores his highest-charting album in ten years after his cover collection “Other People’s Stuff” debuts at No. 7 with 44,000 units. The singer last hit No. 7 with his 2008 album “Life Death Love and Freedom”. On the other hand, Tekashi69 a.k.a. 6ix9ine‘s “Dummy Boy” falls to No. 8 with 43,000 units.

Rounding out the top 10 for this week are Lil Baby‘s “Street Gossip”, which slips to No. 9 with a little more than 42,000 units, and Drake‘s Grammy-nominated album “Scorpion”, which re-enters the top 10 with 42,000 units.
