Air date announced for The Inbetweeners reunion we’ve all been waiting for

The air date for The Inbetweeners reunion has been announced, and it’s the best news ever.

Will, Simon, Neil and Jay are getting back together for a two-hour special and it’s going to hit screens on New Year’s Day.

That means those who’ve been partying hard with their ‘fwends’ the night before can snuggle up on the sofa and laugh about something other than their own embarrassing New Year’s antics.

The lads – Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, Blake Harrison and James Buckley – are jumping back in Simon’s rubbish yellow Fiat to mark the 10th anniversary of the show.

The hit comedy show ran for three series from 2008 to 2010 and spawned two feature length movies that saw the friends go on their first ever lads’ holiday and travel to Australia to find out whether or not compulsive liar Jay was telling the truth about his epic gap year.

Most fans of the show have lost count of how many times they’ve rewatched the episodes, but star James recently revealed why he’ll never let his kids see the show.

James told Good Morning Britain that there will never come an age where he wants sons Harrison and Jude to watch the show.

The 31-year-old’s character got semi-naked, threw up multiple times and even masturbated on the show.

Speaking about his kids, James said: "I would never let them watch The Inbetweeners.

"It’s different for me as I’m supposed to be their dad. I don’t want them to see me behaving in that way. I already have very little respect from them to begin with and I don’t want to lose it completely."

But GMB presenter Piers Morgan assured the actor that the internet is a "small world" and that they would almost certainly see clips online.
