Ortiz came out for his bout against Travis Kauffman by Paul, who this year competed in a boxing exhibition against fellow YouTube star Deji Olatunji.
Paul defeated Deji that night after four rounds and afterwards paraded around the ring with a replica WBC title.
As the American YouTuber accompanied the 38-year-old Ortiz to the ring, fans reacted on Twitter with shock.
One said: “Why tf is Jake Paul in Luis Ortiz’s corner with his imaginary belt?”
Another said: “Here I am. Watching the boxing night. And there he is. F**king Jake Paul. Kill me now.”
Ortiz went on to win the fight with a last round KO after a number of knockdowns.
Wilder and Fury will take each other on in front of a packed-out Staples Center.
The winner will take home the WBC heavyweight title belt.
