Man United news: Jose Mourinho refusing to tell stars if they in starting line-up until last moment

The Red Devils boss is happy keeping his men guessing over his starting line-up for matches.

Players usually get a feel for the starting XI from shape work and set-pieces in training on the day before a match.

Mourinho then officially names his team on the day of the game at a squad meeting.

But Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba were among those who looked to be in his team from training before the win over Young Boys, only to be named among the subs.

And he has followed a similar ploy ahead of the trip to Southampton.

One man who already knows he won’t figure on the South Coast is Sanchez.

The Chilean’s scream after tearing his hamstring left his United team-mates shellshocked.

POWER NO MOUR Jose admits United no longer have power to dominate English football

The forward, 29, suffered the horrific injury in training on Thursday and was left writhing in agony on the pitch at the club’s Carrington HQ.

Pals were distressed at the anguish as he pulled up and immediately knew he had suffered a serious problem.

Sanchez is set for scans on his hamstring and has been ruled out for at least ten weeks.

Mourinho said: “From the painful scream and the way it happened, it will be a long time.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic snubbed Man City move before he joined Manchester United

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC snubbed a move to Man City eight years ago after Pep Guardiola desperately tried to flog him from Barcelona.

The Swedish superstar moved to the Nou Camp in July 2009 but only spent one season with the then European champions.

Boss Guardiola made it clear to Catalan club chiefs he wanted Ibrahimovic to leave despite the £56.5million transfer fee the year before.

Ibrahimovic, 37, eventually escaped on loan to AC Milan ahead of a £24m cut-price capture.
