Barry Geraghty times it to perfection as Unowhatimeanharry bounces back to claim Long Distance victory

Harry Fry's gelding showed all his 2016 zest under a sensational ride from the former Grand National-winning pilot.

Although not always travelling sweetly, the son of Sir Harry Lewis showed a potent turn of foot where it mattered to seal his first win since November last year.

In a dramatic race, Harry Fry's ten-year-old saw off the late threats of Clyne and The Mighty Don in decisive fashion.

At one stage Momella had looked a big danger as she loomed up on the near-side rail – but she clipped two out and jockey Noel Fehily had no chance of staying on board.

Wholestone also loomed up ominously but his challenge faded as quickly as it had begun.

A delighted Geraghty said: "There were moments where he wasn't quite travelling but I was never throwing the kitchen sink at him.

"He was always going to stay and I was fairly happy for most of the way.

"It was a good, solid performance. He's possibly not as smart as he was when he won it two years ago but he did it well."

Earlier on the card, La Bague Au Roi's task was made a whole lot easier as her main rival Lostintranslation made a total horlicks of the third last and she sluiced home to land the Grade 2 Novices' Chase.

Aso was an impressive winner of the Ladbrokes Handicap Chase for jockey Charlie Deutsch, who notched his biggest victory since being released from jail.
