And the show promises to be exciting, pitting Raw against SmackDown with champion v champion and traditional Survivor Series elimination tag matches.
Sun Sport runs down the matchups and predicts how the action will go down on the night.
Universal Champion v WWE Champion -Brock Lesnar v Daniel Bryan
Background: Just as Brock Lesnar v Jinder Mahal last year was changed to Brock v AJ Styles, the Brock v AJ rematch has been changed at the final hour – after Bryan’s shock title win and heel turn on SmackDown.
There’s no story or heat between Brock and Bryan but this is still a first-time-ever dream matchup.
Sun Sport Predicts: We’re expecting a screwy finish for this one.
It’s impossible to believe that Bryan will defeat “The Beast”. But WWE will want to keep Bryan’s momentum after turning heel.
Will former champ AJ Styles get involved to help The Beast win and continue AJ’s feud with Bryan?
Ronda Rousey v Charlotte Flair
Background: Another match switched at the last minute, this was originally meant to be Ronda v Becky Lynch – until Becky suffered a concussion and broken nose on Raw.
Becky picked Charlotte has her replacement to take on the “Baddest Woman on the Planet”.
Sun Sport Predicts: Ronda v Charlotte is a marquee pairing for the women’s division but has been hastily thrown together here.
It’s still hard to imagine Ronda losing at this stage – even to WWE’s resident “Queen”.
Ronda should win but there will be unfinished business for these down the road.
Men’s 5-on-5 Elimination Match
Team Raw (Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Finn Balor & Bobby Lashley) v Team SmackDown (The Miz, Shane McMahon, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio & Samoa Joe)
Background: Raw and SmackDown have been assembling teams for the now traditional battle of the brands. But the teams can’t stop fighting amongst themselves.
On the Raw team, Braun has major heat with both McIntyre and team captain Baron Corbin (who will be managing from the sidelines).
On SmackDown, everyone hates team captain The Miz and Shane McMahon is teasing a heel turn.
Sun Sport Predicts: This will be a win for team Raw.
Drew McIntyre has incredible momentum going into this – he’s the logical choice to be sole survivor and push himself further into the main event.
Corbin might also betray Braun to set up a match between them at the December TLC pay-per-view.
Women’s 5-on-5 Elimination Match
Team Raw (Natalya, Nia Jax, Tamina, Ruby Riott & Mickie James) v Team SmackDown (Asuka, Carmella, Naomi, Sonya Deville & a mystery partner)
Background: Raw captain Alexa Bliss has assembled a team of (mostly) heels to take on the SmackDown ladies.
But SmackDown are a team member short after Charlotte was chosen to replace Becky Lynch against Ronda Rousey – so a mystery partner will be announced at the PPV.
Sun Sport Predicts: Nia, Tamina, and Ruby Riott have strong storylines heading into this match, so they’re contenders to survive and score another win for Raw.
But there could be infighting – especially after Ruby Riott assaulted teammate Natalya this week and mocked her dead father.
NXT superstar Kairi Sane is a strong choice for SmackDown’s mystery partner. She could also be an outside pick to win it if the infighting between Raw team members proves too much.
Intercontinental Champion v US Champion – Seth Rollins v Shinsuke Nakamura
Background: Seth Rollins has a dream opponent in Shinsuke Nakamura – but Rollins’ mind is on Dean Ambrose.
Nakamura says Rollins has broken his heart – so now he’s promised to break Rollins’ face.
Sun Sport Predicts: Two years ago this would have been a top-level fantasy matchup.
But WWE’s treatment of Nak has been so dire, it’s little more than a distraction in the much bigger Rollins v Ambrose feud.
Expect Nakamura to get the win after Ambrose interferes to ambush Rollins.
Raw Tag Team Champions v SmackDown Tag Team Champions – AoP v The Bar
Background: The AoP defeated Seth Rollins in a handicap match to win the Raw titles and set up this champions v champions match.
But The Bar will have new pal The Big Show in their corner. Will he help Sheamus and Cesaro take down AoP?
Sun Sports Predicts: The AoP are getting a push (six months too late, if you ask us) so they’re sure to beat The Bar, who are nearing the end of their run as a team.
And Akam and Rezar are sure to overpower Big Show to cement their status as monster heels.
Cruiserweight Championship Match – Buddy Murphy (c) v Mustafa Ali
Background: Murphy won the title at Super Show-Down in his native Australia, while Ali defeated Tony Nese for this shot at the new champion.
The pair have history after battling it out in an incredible no DQ match on 205 Live in July.
Sun Sport Predicts: There could be exciting action if WWE gives these performers the time and creative freedom to do their stuff.
But Murphy’s a safe bet to retain the title. It’s too early for him to drop the belt and this could be the first match in an ongoing feud.
Team Raw (Bobby Roode & Chad Gable, The Ascension, The Revival, Lucha House Party & The B-Team) v Team SmackDown (The Usos, The New Day, SAnitY, The Colons & Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson)
Background: The tag teams of the respective brands join forces for the 20-man version of a traditional Survivor Series elimination match.
Sun Sport Predicts: The Usos and The New Day are the only teams in this match we can take seriously. They’re the obvious picks to survive and notch up a SmackDown win.
This match only highlights the sorry state of WWE’s tag division, especially on Raw.
