The Voice Recap: Which 13 Singers Got the Boot?

Tuesday’s episode of The Voice whittled down the contestants, giving 13 hopefuls the boot.

It was a bloodbath for sure, but it highlights the big flaw in the format. The show takes too long to get to this stage, and it probably explains why the ratings are on the downside.

There was a lot of movers and shakers throughout the 60-minute installment, and the results played out as follows:

SAVED BY AMERICA’S VOTE

Kirk Jay (Team Blake)

Chris Kroeze (Team Blake)

DeAndre Nico (Team Adam)

Reagan Strange (Team Adam)

MaKenzie Thomas (Team Jennifer)

Kennedy Holmes (Team Jennifer)

Chevel Shepherd (Team Kelly)

Sarah Grace (Team Kelly)

SAVED BY THEIR COACH

Dave Fenley (Team Blake)

Tyke James (Team Adam)

SandyRedd (Team Jennifer)

Kymberli Joye (Team Kelly)

That left the fate of Ayanna Joni and Lynnea Moorer up the in the air, and they had to perform in a live sing off.

Ayanna Joni –  “No Tears Left to Cry”

Ayanna never got a chair turn during her Blind Audition, but she benefited from The Comeback Stage. American never thought her vocal ability was all that which landed her in the bottom two.

Her performance of the Ariana Grande hit was all over the place. We thought the purpose of her being taken to nurture her talent was to make her sound better.

She was bubbly, but that shouldn’t be the only trait one performer has in order to stay in the game.

Lynnea Moorer, “Boo’d Up”

With Ayanna being so out of tune, the only way was up for Lynnea, and while her performance was not as fine-tuned as it should have been, it was still better.

The true test for Lynnea will be whether her time in the bottom will light a fire under her butt to switch things up.

Lynnea was saved by America’s vote and made her way to join Team Kelly.

Ayanna, we hardly knew you, but this was the right call.

The Voice continues Monday on NBC.
