Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis is in talks for her own documentary

Stephanie Davis is set to front her own TV documentary.

The Hollyoaks actress, who returned in the role of Sinead O’Connor earlier this year after her contract was terminated in 2015, recently revealed that she’s currently “in talks” to make a one-off show about addiction in young people.

It’s an area with which Stephanie has experience, having spoken openly about her previous struggles with mental illness and alcohol addiction.

She told Daily Star on Sunday: “I’m in talks to do my own TV documentary about addiction in young people. I want to help because the disease takes lives. If my pain then helped other people, then it’s all worth it.”

Last month, Stephanie appeared on Good Morning Britain, where she revealed she thought she “was going to die” before seeking help for her addiction.

“In the end, I was going to die,” she said. “It was really sad. I did try to kill myself and the amount I was drinking, I was either going to hit my head or my body couldn’t take anymore.

“It just got to the point where I gave up the fight, I wanted to be me again. I wasn’t me, I was an empty, lost soul.”

Stephanie is also the mother to her one-year-old son Caben-Albi, who was fathered by her Celebrity Big Brother co-star Jeremy McConnell.

Hollyoaks airs weekdays on Channel 4 and E4.
