Canberra United were three minutes away from the perfect start to their National Youth League season before the Central Coast Mariners completed a smash and grab at Deakin Stadium on Saturday night.
Canberra led 2-1 in the 87th minute thanks to goals from Brodie Clarkson and Zac Barbatano but the Mariners equalised and an own-goal in the 91st minute sealed a 3-2 win.

United endured a tough one-win season in their inaugural NYL campaign last summer but it looks like they'll be more competitive under new coach Dean Ugrinic.
They'll host the Western Sydney Wanderers in round two on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Canberra United star import Denise O'Sullivan has been terrific in her first tow W-League games and was named Ireland's international player of the year on Sunday.
Canberra have a win and a draw after two rounds and travel to Newcastle this week to take on the Jets on Saturday night.
