Piers Morgan is mocked by Good Morning Britain crew for calling Daniel Craig and other dads carrying babies in a sling 'emasculated'

Earlier this week the TV star slammed Daniel Craig for transporting his daughter in a papoose, and on the show this morning he branded the subsequent Twitter storm "papoosegate".

His exasperated co-presenter Susanna Reid asked: "What is your ongoing issue with the papoose?"

Explaining his anger towards baby slings, Piers replied: "I just don't like them!"

The camera then panned to entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold wearing a baby doll in a papoose, as well as backstage crew members.

Later on, after Piers demonstrated holding two baby dolls in an arm each, actor Ross Kemp told him why carrying your baby in a sling was better for "bonding" and safety.

Those watching at home took to Twitter once more over his comments this morning.

One wrote: "Oh my head hurts at 6am in the morning after watching @piersmorgan continue #papoose – gate. I'm hearing emasculated alot and just makes me glad I'm female at the moment.@susannareid100 cuddling a baby and refusing to give the baby to Piers had me in stitches @gmb #gmb."

Another commented: "@piersmorgan has got a valid point about the papoose thing, it's just been blown out of proportion. The guy who sent the picture in was literally wearing his kid on his back. Hardly good for bonding #gmb @GMB"

A third shared: "#gmb this all stems from Piers falling out of a papoose when he was a baby and landing on his head"

It comes after Piers was slammed by Captain America star Chris Evans for claiming it is “emasculating” for Daniel Craig to carry his son in a papoose.

The Good Morning Britain host criticised the James Bond actor for using a baby carrier – leading Chris to say he is "terrified on the inside".

Tweeting a picture of the James Bond actor taking a walk with his newborn daughter strapped to his chest, Piers wrote: "Oh 007.. not you as well?!!!"

He added the hashtag #emasculatedBond.

The tweet sparked outrage from US actor Chris, who questioned why Piers was commenting on other people's parenting skills.

He said: "You really have to be so uncertain of your own masculinity to concern yourself with how another man carries his child.

"Any man who wastes time quantifying masculinity is terrified on the inside."

Piers replied: "Captain America wouldn't wear a papoose."
