If you tuned in a bit late to The One Show on Monday night (October 15), you’d be forgiven in thinking the show had been replaced by some time-warped version of Blue Peter.
That’s because the BBC chat show brought together some of Blue Peter‘s best-loved presenters to re-live some of its greatest moments and catch viewers up on what they’re doing these days.
Among those who turned up were ’80s favourites Mark Curry and Sarah Greene as well as Konnie Huq, whose 10 years on Blue Peter made her one of the longest-running presenter in the show’s history.
Of course, The One Show‘s Matt Baker was on Blue Peter for years too and viewers also got to see him reunite with his former co-presenters Konnie and Simon Thomas. It was 1999 all over again!
“You two were like a pair of naughty lads when you were on,” Mark Curry laughed with Matt and Simon. “Whenever I used to tune in and watch… you two were always misbehaving, giggling, corpsing, having a great time! Did you have a really fantastic time on it?”
“We did yeah,” Matt beamed. “Some of the stuff we did together, paratroopers and all of that!”
“We just kind of helped each other get through it,” Simon added.
The Blue Peter legends reunited on The One Show to celebrate Tuesday’s (October 16) 60th anniversary special that will recap the entire history of the iconic children’s programme and reunite even more presenters from the past.
The One Show airs Mondays through Fridays on BBC One.
