ASOS and Google Assistant are combining at last to drag the fashion industry into the 21st Century, letting you shop and order your clothes with a simple voice command.
That’s right, you read that correctly. You literally don’t even need to get out of bed anymore to buy your clothes.
Google is really pushing the boat out to make shopping a much simpler task, letting you talk to Enki – the ASOS shopping guide – to discover the latest fashion items and buy them on the spot.
All you have to do is say “Hey Google, talk to ASOS” to the Google Home or Google Assistant app, and Enki will talk you through the newest products across six of ASOS’s top womenswear and menswear categories – sending you all the items you like to your smartphone to browse.
Obviously, you will need to buy a Google Home, or download the Assistant app on the Google Play Store or iOS App Store to do this.
The Google Assistant app is available on more than 500 million devices, so you should be fine to download on most modern phones and tablets, unleashing the entire ASOS catalogue via a simple word.

Jason Gregory, senior product manager of ASOS, said: “With 85,000 products on site at any one time, and on average 5,000 new items added each week, it’s more important than ever to make it easy for our customers to stay on top of what’s new on ASOS.
“With the launch of Enki on Facebook Messenger and now Google Assistant, we’re exploring ways that conversational commerce can help us make the ASOS shopping experience as easy and intuitive as possible.”
Enki has become an excellent way for shoppers to find products online, partnering with Facebook Messenger in the UK earlier this year.
Features such as Your Edit (a weekly drop of curated items), recommended brands, Style Match – which enables customers to search using images from the web or captured on their smartphone – and ‘You Might Also Like’ are all designed to make it easier for customers to navigate the wide range of products on ASOS’s site.
