Police searching for missing youngster Leon Langford have found a seriously injured boy on the floor of a factory.

Leon, 9, is believed to have fallen through a roof in the Infirmary area of Blackburn in Lancashire, police said.

Officers were called to a factory at just after 8am today after members of staff found the boy on the ground.

His father Dave Langford wrote on Facebook: ‘Really want to say massive thank you to all that helped me through the night and this morning to help find my son’

Leon was last seen playing with friends in the Ivy Street Play Park (pictured) in Blackburn, Lancashire, at around 4pm on Sunday

His father Dave Langford wrote on Facebook: ‘Really want to say massive thank you to all that helped me through the night and this morning to help find my son.

‘He is in a bad way but on the way to Alder Hey hospital.’

The nine-year-old’s condition is described as serious following a fall of more than 15 feet.

Leon was last seen playing with friends in the Ivy Street Play Park in Blackburn, Lancashire, at around 4pm on Sunday.

His friends returned home but Leon did not and has now been missing overnight.

In posts on Facebook, family members say they have been out looking for him and appealed for public help to share the missing person’s appeal issued by police.

The nine-year-old has been taken to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool, where he is in a serious condition
