In the early hours UK time on Sunday morning, McGregor will aim to win the UFC lightweight title back from his fearsome Russian opponent.
In just a few months Fury himself will be hoping to win a belt of his own – the WBC heavyweight boxing version, when he takes on fellow undefeated fighter Deontay Wilder.
That too will be in the US. But this weekend the Gypsy King will be a fan rather than fighter when he attends UFC 229 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
And speaking to BT Sport ahead of the hugely anticipated scrap, Fury said: "I'm going to go to that fight, 100 per cent.
"I'm going to be there in Vegas baby."
When asked what his prediction for the fight is, The Gypsy King answered: "McGregor knockout."
The fight will be McGregor's first in the UFC since he beat Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 in November 2016 – and standing across the cage from him will be the fearsome unbeaten Russian Khabib.
McGregor's boxing bout against Mayweather last year also took place in the same Vegas arena.
As usual with the big fights across the pond, the bout is expected to get underway at around 4am UK time at the earliest.
Throughout his career, McGregor has often been the favourite when stepping into the cage.
But after his two years out and issues away from the octagon, his 30-year-old Russian opponent has overtaken him as UFC's strongest fighter.
This has been replicated in betting, with Khabib the favourite with odds of 13/8 on with Sky Bet.
Meanwhile, McGregor has been placed at 5/4 for victory in his tenth UFC fight.
Yet, any hopes of a stunning draw are massive long shots, with Ladbrokes offering 80/1.
Fury himself is usually the favourite when he steps through the ropes of a boxing ring.
Yet he is the outsider too when he takes on WBC king Wilder on December 1.
Could it be the year of the underdog?
