Mark Little looks totally different to his Neighbours days as Joe Mangel as he prepares for 'dangerous' Dancing on Ice appearance

Mark, 58, played iconic character Joe Mangel in the Australian soap between 1988 and 1991, and then again briefly in 2005.

Speaking about his upcoming appearance on the show, Mark confessed that he is not a skilled skater.

Hinting that his moves might be "dangerous", he said: "How exciting this is! My skating is pretty rickety.

"I'll be trying to find the elegance, the strength, the smoothness.

"I'm a bit of a danger man, a bit of a risk taker, and I do like dancing so let's see what happens."

The actor last appeared in Neighbours in 2005Yesterday The Sun Online revealed that Mark had signed up to the show – with bosses keen to give the 2019 series a sense of nostalgia.

An insider told us: "Bosses were desperate to sign him up.

"Mark will add a sense of nostalgia to the show – everybody knows who he is.

"Joe Mangel is a Neighbours' legend to fans old and new."

Born in Brisbane, Australia, Mark shot to fame in the United Kingdom thanks to his role in Neighbours.

As a result, he replaced Chris Evans as the host of The Big Breakfast in 1994 – eventually moving to Brighton, and then London.

Since Neighbours, Mark has enjoyed success as a theatre actor – even winning an Olivier Award for one-man-show Defending the Caveman in 2000.

The star has two sons with his wife, Cath Farr.

Dancing On Ice is set to return to our screens in January, with Mark the latest in a long list of celebs to sign up to the show.

He joins Gemma Collins, Richard Blackwood, James Jordan, Brian McFadden, Saira Khan, Ryan Sidebottom, and Melody Thornton in the line-up.

Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will be returning as the show's hosts, with skating icons and current judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean expected to return alongside Jason Gardiner and Ashley Banjo.
