But Jim, played by newly returned Weatherfield legend Charles Lawson, seems to have forgotten that while he’s been wooing Liz, his younger lover Hannah Gilmore is becoming increasingly suspicious of their relationship.
Jim and Hannah have been plotting to rip off Liz and son Steve McDonald in a revenge plan after they left him to rot in jail after he was sent down for armed robbery in 2012.
But Jim has found himself increasingly warming to Liz and has realised it’s actually her he wants and not Hannah.
Liz – who believes Hannah is the daughter she thought had died back in 1993 – has offered the scheming Australian her £10k life savings.
The Rovers Return barmaid thinks Hannah has Myotonic Dystrophy, the same genetic degenerative condition Jim has and thinks the money is going towards a special treatment in America.
Jim tells Hannah that Liz’s money has come through and that she should take it and leave Weatherfield without him.
Meanwhile Hannah watches on as her ‘mum’ Liz, Beverley Callard, tells Jim that she feels the same and also wants to give their relationship another go.
But will Hannah believe Jim when he tries to convince her it’s all part of their twisted scam?
Hannah isn’t ready to say goodbye to the cobbles just yet, not with a few more people she can extort.
At the wedding of her ‘big brother’ Steve McDonald to Tracy Barlow, she slithers up to Johnny Connor and tells him that unless he hands over £5k to her, she’ll tell his wife Jenny about his one-night-stand with Liz.
Will Johnny comply? Or will Hannah end up dropping a huge bombshell at the wedding, unmasking herself as a cruel fraud?
