Cristiano Ronaldo rape investigation reopened by US cops as they probe ex-model's claims she was assaulted at Las Vegas hotel

Kathryn Mayorga, 34, has accused the footballer of attacking her in a Las Vegas hotel in 2009.

She went to the police at the time, and later reportedly accepted a settlement of £287,000 from Ronaldo and signed a gagging order.

But she has filed court papers to overturn it and recently spoke to the city’s cops.

A statement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said: “The case has been reopened and our detectives are following up on information being provided by the victim.

“At the time the report was taken, the victim did not provide detectives with the location of the incident or suspect description. A medical exam was conducted.”

Portuguese Ronaldo, 33, denies any attack and says that sex was consensual. He posted a video branding her accusations “fake, fake news”.

But her lawyer Leslie Stovall insisted: “Physical evidence, answers to written questions and the circumstances surrounding the purported agreement are not ‘fake news’.”
