Kevin De Bruyne, Benjamin Mendy and Fabian Delph have not travelled to Germany for the Champions League group stage fixture.
De Bruyne handed City a huge boost when he returned to training on Monday following a knee injury.
The Belgian was expected to be out of action for three months after he suffered ligament damage in August.
He has stepped up his recovery – but is not ready to return to Pep Guardiola's starting XI yet.
Mendy will continue his stint on the sidelines after he was ruled out of action with a bruised fifth metatarsal on his left-foot earlier this month.
And the £49.3 million left-back is not in Guardiola's good books after he turned up three hours late for a recovery session.
Delph did not train with the squad on Monday at the City Football Academy and will miss the match through injury.
Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero, who both scored in Saturday's win over Brighton, were both with the squad at the airport.
City shared the official team-sheet to their Twitter page – which included Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez and David Silva.
The defending Premier League champions will want to get their first win in the competition this season after their shock home defeat to Lyon a fortnight ago.
Guardiola will face the press later this evening ahead of tomorrow's clash at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena.
