The wait for the full version of “Shallow” from the “A Star Is Born” original soundtrack is over. Lady Gaga debuted the official “Shallow” music video to her YouTube page, so now fans don’t have to keep replaying the film’s trailer to listen to a bit of the already-famous track. The full-length song runs three minutes and 36 seconds. Gaga and Bradley cooper trade off verses, with Gaga supplying the power vocals on the song’s chorus.
“Shallow” is one of 35 tracks on the “A Star Is Born” original soundtrack. The album features originals, including the ballad “Is That Alright?” that Gaga premiered earlier this week, as well as cover versions of songs such as “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “La Vie En Rose.” You can check out the full listing for the film’s soundtrack here.
The film’s soundtrack lists Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt as the songwriters for “Shallow.” Gaga and Ronson collaborated on numerous tracks on the musical’s last album, “Joanne.” Gaga plays aspiring singer-songwriter Ally in “A Star is Born,” and the vibe of “Shallow” fits right at home with the stripped sound Gaga showed off on the “Joanne” album. The track is expected to factor into the Oscar race for best original song.
“A Star Is Born” opens nationwide October 5 via Warner Bros. The movie’s official soundtrack will be available to purchase the same day. “Shallow” is now available on iTunes. Watch the music video below
