iPhone XS Max case put to the test as £1,449 smartphone is thrown into the air

It’s only been out for a matter of hours, but an iPhone XS Max has already been involved in a nail-biting drop test.

Smartphone company, Mous , travelled to Sydney yesterday to be one of the first to get its hands on the sought-after smartphone, before hitting up the London and Hong Kong Apple shops.

Despite the iPhone XS Max costing £1,449, Mous bravely drop-tested it, in an attempt to show how strong their iPhone cases are.

Members of the Mous team launchd the iPhone XS Max eight metres into the air, shocking Apple enthusiasts.

Thankfully, the Mous case protected the smartphone, and it survived unscathed.

Mous cases use a high-impact material called AiroShock, which contains tiny air pocket and cross linking polymer chains that work like springs, cushioning the fall.

James Griffith, co-founder of Mous, said: “We looked at our iPhones, these $1000 pieces of technology that we all carry around with us, and thought to ourselves: everything that is protective is ugly, and everything that isn’t ugly as sin isn’t protective.

"Surely we can do better!

“People store their whole lives on their phones, and are willing to invest a lot in the latest tech.

“So, with a third of people still carrying a damaged phone, our ambition to create the best, most protective case out there is more relevant than ever.”

The cases come in a range of stunning designs, including Carbon Fibre, Walnut, Leather, Bamboo, and Shell.

Mr Griffith added: “We really believe in making things that last.

"That’s our guiding mentality whenever we’re designing new products, and it clearly resonates with consumers.”
