Tonight’s (September 19) visit to Emmerdale witnessed the psychological damage inflicted on Rebecca White as actress Emily Head completely stole the show.
Following on from last night’s shock ending – which saw Rebecca kill off all of those death theories by returning in dramatic style – she was holed up in hospital throughout tonight’s episode.
Here, she was reunited with her young son Seb (who barely recognised her), but over the course of several hallucinations – it’s clear that Rebecca’s mental state is somewhat bruised.
“He toyed with suffocating me,” she told police officers of Lachlan whilst they visited her in hospital, before the twisted man himself haunted her vision on several occasions. At one point, Robert’s face was replaced with Lachlan’s, while she thought she saw him walk past her room later on.
Tonight’s Emmerdale relished in the art of flashbacks, filling in the blanks during Rebecca’s nightmarish time kidnapped by Lachlan. Soap fans thought Emily flourished in her tough role.
Twitter was extremely reactive to Emily’s performance, as Emmerdale followers shared their praise for the actress online.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
