Jason Isbell has tapped Bully and Diarrhea Planet as opening acts for his upcoming multi-night shows at Ryman Auditorium in fall 2018.
For the 6-show residency with his band The 400 Unit, Isbell has invited six different Nashville-based openers. Molly Tuttle on October 22, Jeff The Brotherhood on October 23, Bully on October 24, Amanda Shires on October 26, Diarrhea Planet on October 27 and Melanie Faye on October 28.
The inclusion of Diarrhea Planet comes as a surprise, as the garage-punk band had announced early this year that they were breaking up. The final shows in Nashville this past weekend were supposed to be their last performance together.
Isbell is also planning to release a live album from last year’s Ryman residency, Live at the Ryman, which will consist 13 songs from the band’s most recent albums, and is set for release on October 19.
Isbell also cleaned up at the Americana Honors & Awards ceremony earlier this week. He took home a total of three awards at the event, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Duo/Group of the Year.
