It’s bee a dramatic time of late for the celebrity chef who hit the headlines when he pinned a burglar to the ground, who reportedly tried to break into his £8.9million, eight-bedroom mansion and other homes along the exclusive street.

The star chased the would-be thief down the street while neighbours called 999, according to reports.

Jamie said he wouldn’t mind his children eating McDonald’s occasionally as he knows they get a balanced diet at home

Jamie’s wife Jools and their five children were all at their mansion in Highgate, north London, at the time of last week’s incident, the newspaper said.

It has since emerged that the ‘aggressive’ burglar chased and tackled by Jamie Oliver was a George Michael superfan who loitered at the singer’s former home before targeting the celebrity chef’s home.

The TV chef and restaurateur ‘went absolutely mad’ and pinned the burglar to the ground while neighbours called 999 on Tuesday night.

Police today revealed the man Jamie believed was a burglar is back on the streets.

A witness, who works at the Flask, a pub across the street, said the man was ‘f***** off his face on meth’ and ‘dancing around topless’ in the beer garden before heading to the chef’s mansion.

His first port of call was George Michael’s grand home, which until recently had a shrine outside more than 18 months after his death.

The witness, who did not wish to be named, said: ‘He was f***** out of his head. He went into the beer garden, took his top off and started dancing. There was no music.’

The man, described as white, chubby and around 26, left after the pub”s manager told him to go.

‘He started staring in the gates at George Michael’s house. It was weird. He sounds like a George Michael fanatic’, the witness said.

‘Then he was outside Jamie Oliver’s house looking through the gates. Next thing we see this blonde guy chasing the guy down the street, it was Jamie Oliver.

‘It was crazy. He sprinted down the street with three guys, who looked like security guards, pinned him to the ground in the car park with his arm behind his back.

‘The guy didn’t react much, still looked very dazed. Jamie’s got lots of kids to worry about so fair enough’.
