Loose Women labelled "hypocrites" over Roxanne Pallett bullying debate

The Loose Women panel have come in for criticism on social media for their debate about Roxanne Pallett today (September 11).

Host Ruth Langsford was joined by Janet Street-Porter, Linda Robson and Saira Khan on the chat show this afternoon.

However, while discussing Roxanne’s Celebrity Big Brother backlash – after she wrongly accused Ryan Thomas of deliberately harming her – the four ladies’ comments didn’t go down too smoothly with viewers.

This reaction was sparked after the panellists called for online bullies to retreat from their relentless criticism of the former Emmerdale actress.

And as you can see, many people on Twitter referenced Kim Woodburn’s controversial appearance on Loose Women recently, which saw some accuse Loose Women star Coleen Nolan of “bullying” the How Clean Is Your House? star.

Today’s panellists also commended Ryan for how he handled the drama, after he declared that he forgave Roxanne during the Celebrity Big Brother final yesterday.

One social media user noted: “Ryan being classy, maybe Coleen could take note hey.”

More than 27,000 people have signed a Change.org petition demanding that Coleen be “removed from the Loose Women panel indefinitely for her atrocious act of unprovoked bullying”.

Coleen has now taken a hiatus from Loose Women, calling the fallout “the worst week of [her] life”, while her co-stars have defended her and wished her well.

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
