John Terry back training with Chelsea with Michael Essien and Jon Harley at Cobham as he waits for Spartak Moscow move

The 37-year-old former Chelsea captain posted a picture of himself in a Chelsea kit with former team-mates Michael Essien and John Harley today at the club's Cobham HQ.

Terry isn't ready to hang up his boots just yet and two decades on from making his debut for the Blues, he continues to train at the club's state of the art facilities.

Harley, 39, is currently a coach with Chelsea's Under-16s at the club's academy, while Essien, 35, is a free agent after his contract was terminated by Indonesian side Persib Bandung.

The former Ghana international was turned down by Romanian side CFR Cluj for being too old.

It's not the first time Terry has posted a picture of himself training at Cobham this summer.

In June, he shared a video of a training session that he took part in alongside Chelsea women's winger Karen Carney and teenage starlet Ethan Ampadu.

But this could be one of the last opportunities he gets to train in London, as his shock move to Spartak Moscow is imminent.

After leaving Chelsea, Terry spent time in the Championship with Aston Villa and despite an impressive season they failed to get promoted into the Premier League after a dramatic play-off final against Fulham.

He has now lined up a £3m-a-year deal from Spartak Moscow, which is believed to only be for one year with an optional extension clause available.

But Terry's move to the Russian side will be too late for him to compete in the group stages of the Europa League.

Uefa's deadline of September 3 has passed, so Terry will not feature in his new side's clash against Steven Gerrard's Rangers.

Portuguese giants Sporting looked an option last week when Pedro Madeira Rodrigues revealed he wanted JT if he got elected president of the club.

The move may have suited the ex-England captain as he spends time in Portugal – but Rodrigues pulled out of the race to control the club.

The former Chelsea captain revealed this week that three teams from abroad were chasing his signature.

He has been without a club since leaving Villa Park after their play-off heartache against Fulham in May.

He has been keeping fit and still intends to find one last club to play for, 20 years after making his Blues debut, before moving into coaching.

Terry has been doing his coaching badges and priming himself for a stint in the dugout, with the Stamford Bridge job top of his wishlist.

He said: "It's true, I want to be the manager of Chelsea one day but that is a five to eight-year plan."
