Celebrity Big Brother‘s Ben Jardine has claimed that he could seek legal action after his “damaging” experience on Married at First Sight.
Speaking to The Sun, the reality TV personality indicated that he may pursue a legal recourse with the production company behind the show because they “sold” him a false promise of finding love. Jardine split from co-star Stephanie shortly after filming ended.
“I thought that production company were going to find me true love, but instead it’s been a nightmare,” he said.
“It’s really impacted on my life and I feel my reputation has been damaged. I married a stranger and it didn’t work out.
“She’s been meeting up with my ex girlfriend. She even met up with Natalie Nunn, who I was in the Celebrity Big Brother house with. It’s all wrong. I just want to move on.”
Ben now says he is undergoing therapy and wants Married at First Sight producers to reimburse him for the cost of the sessions.
Ben’s estranged wife Stephanie also accused Married at First Sight of “not doing their checks properly”, but her grievance was that producers let “someone like him get on the show”.
A spokesperson for Married at First Sight told the newspaper in response: “All of the contributors who apply are fully aware at the application process of the nature of the programme and are matched by experts on a range of criteria which is explicit in the show.
“Throughout the process each stage was made fully transparent to Ben and he also consented to his participation at each stage.”
Ben and Stephanie were the only couple to stick together during their time on Married at First Sight, but not long after the cameras stopped rolling, he decided he wanted a divorce.
Shortly before entering the Celebrity Big Brother house last month, Ben announced that he was expecting a baby with another woman.
