Studying mama’s methods? Nicole Kidman revealed that her daughter loves to watch her Emmy-winning performance in Big Little Lies.
“My daughter is always negotiating with me to see Big Little Lies and I’m like, ‘No, no, no,’” the 51-year-old actress said at OMEGA’s “Her Time” exhibition in St. Petersburg, Russia, on Tuesday, August 28. “She sees snippets. [That said] it’s really good, I think, for your children to see your work and understand what it is. Then it’s theirs as well, so I talk about it.”
Kidman — whose character, Celeste Wright, will return for season 2 of the HBO series in 2019 — shares daughters Sunday Rose, 10, and Faith, 7, with husband Keith Urban.
The girls are intrigued by more of their mom’s work, too. “I have three films coming out, but to my children, Aquaman is the most important film, and the boys at [their] school are interested in me being in Aquaman, which to my daughter is really important right now,” she noted. “I said to her, ‘I hope I’m in it.’ She said, ‘I hope you’re in it. I told everybody.’”
Kidman projected that a wide range of viewers will take an interest in the film, out in December. “It’s going to cross all quadrants in terms of appeal. Adults and children can enjoy it,” she explained. “It’s very much about a mother and the way in which she sends off her sons and then has to deal with how they interact. I’m not allowed to say anything more. I’ve probably already said too much. DC Comics keeps you under wraps.”
The Oscar winner has found other ways to win over her kids. Kidman shared on Instagram Sunday, August 26, that her connections allowed her daughters an opportunity to hang out with Taylor Swift at her Reputation stadium tour stop in Nashville over the weekend. “Thank you @taylorswift for your kindness to my girls and me,” the Moulin Rouge! star captioned a photo of herself and the singer. “Beautiful woman inside and out…and your talent is extraordinary.”
