For days now, the residents of Coronation Street (and the soap’s fans) have been worried about the fate of the iconic Rovers Return pub.
New landlords Johnny and Jenny Connor have been teasing big plans for everyone’s favourite local, including turning it into a gastropub and even changing the name to ‘Roverz’.
But on tonight’s Corrie (August 24), it was time for the big reveal, with Johnny and Jenny finally opening the doors to the Rovers again so everyone could see its new look.
… and it looked exactly the same!
Yes, Johnny and Jenny (who aren’t really known for their sense of humour) managed to swerve us all and make everyone believe the Rovers would never be the same again.
Fans and residents of the Street breathed a sigh of relief that their precious pub had been left untouched.
But there was at least one very special new addition, as Jenny hung a picture of Aidan on the wall so he would never be forgotten.
Still, Johnny and Jenny’s happiness may be short-lived, as the episode ended with Henry faking a fall in the cellar and throwing around the word ‘lawsuit’ – as part of his plan to raise the money he owes his ex’s family.
